Macrobond is pleased to announce that a new dataset has been added to our Application – the U.S. Business Cycle Indicators provided by the Conference Board.

Founded in 1916, the Conference Board is a global, independent business membership and research association. The association is producing objective, world-renowned economic data and analyses that help business and policy leaders make sense of their operating environments.

The U.S. Business Cycle Indicators database provides economic indicators that have proven to be most useful in determining current conditions and predicting the future direction of the economy. The composite leading, coincident, and lagging indexes (often referred to as "the leading index" or "the leading indicators") are the key elements in an analytic system designed to signal peaks and troughs in the business cycle.

Additionally, the U.S. BCI dataset offers a wealth of statistical information (over 250 economic time series) covering the most important aspects and sectors of the U.S. economy, such as:

• employment and related labor market conditions
• consumer price indexes (CPI), producer price indexes (PPI), and commodity prices
• GDP, income, wages, and personal consumption
• industrial production, capacity, business sales, and orders for manufactured goods
• interest rates and money supply data
• consumer confidence and expectation indexes

U.S. BCI database includes the full history for each series, including revisions, along with the latest data. The historical data series can go back as far as 1945, most start in the late 1950s.
